If you would like to participate in helping us determine the architectural styles of the homes to be built in Briarcliff or if you would like to be added to our mailing list, click here Why is Briarcliff Revival so special? In part, because it is being designed to emulate the older neighborhood character and scale of the grand Magnolia homes built in the early 20th century. Our goal is to create a community that blends in and enhances the existing neighborhood nearby. Briarcliff Revival stresses a walkable scale, by using street and lot widths consistent with that of the surrounding neighborhood. All but seven of the garages have been moved to the rear of the homes, placing the design emphasis on a human scale rather than that of the car. Individual home designs will be kept in scale with varied roof lines and angles that will break up the mass, avoiding the 3 story boxes seen on some newer Seattle homes. Varied lot sizes also allow a greater variety of home designs. Briarcliff Revival - a wonderful place to bring people into community What is the current status of the project? We are pleased that we have received the approval by the City of Seattle of our preliminary plat application! The detailed engineering drawings for roads, utilities, sidewalks, landscaping and other improvements leading to construction have been submitted to the City for their review and approval. We are hopeful that we will receive the City’s approval to commence site development work later this year. We have also begun the process of designing homes for our community. Using the input we have received from our website and working with the experienced team at Hackworth Group Architecture/Planning, we look forward to creating homes that meet today’s homebuyer’s needs, while reflecting the style that is distinctly Magnolia. This
is an exciting chapter for Briarcliff Revival. We are very hopeful that
we will be able to commence home construction early next year.
